We thank Mr Fu Wen Fa for his suggestions ("建议把公积金遗赠存进受益人退休户头", Sep 9), and for sharing his concern regarding scams.
The CPF Board encourages members to consider topping up their Retirement Account to receive higher monthly payouts. From 2025, the Enhanced Retirement Sum will be raised from three times the Basic Retirement Sum, to four times. This will allow members aged 55 and above to make more top-ups to further boost their monthly payouts.
Members also have the option to bequeath their CPF savings to their nominees in cash or to their MediSave Account and Special/Retirement Account. Members who prefer the latter option can contact the CPF Board at cpf.gov.sg/writetous for more information on how to do so.
Members play a key role in staying vigilant against scams, and can take steps to safeguard their CPF savings by lowering the Daily Withdrawal Limit for online CPF withdrawals, or activating the CPF Withdrawal Lock to disable all online withdrawals. Before making any withdrawals, think twice especially when you are asked by someone to make the withdrawal.
We wish to take this opportunity to remind members that Government agencies, including CPF Board, will never ask you to reveal your CPF balances, transfer funds to them, or provide your Singpass or banking credentials. If you receive such requests from anyone claiming to be a CPF Board officer, do not act on them. Immediately make a police report via 1800-255-0000 or www.police.gov.sg/iwitness and inform CPF Board.
