Dollar-for-dollar matching grant to MediSave Account

Eligible members receive a dollar-to-dollar matching grant (up to $1,000 per year) in your MediSave Account (MA) when you/your loved ones make a cash top-up to your MA.
MA savings can be used to pay for hospitalisation and day surgery expenses, as well as approved outpatient treatments and insurance premiums, e.g. for MediShield Life and CareShield Life.
Earn risk-free interest rates on your top-ups and matching grants.
Cash top-ups which attract matching grant will not be eligible for tax relief.

Who is eligible and how can I check my eligibility?

Eligibility

You are eligible for the Matched MediSave Scheme if you meet the criteria.

Singapore Citizen only
Age 55 to 70 (both inclusive) as of 31^st December of the assessment year
MA savings are less than half of current Basic Healthcare Sum (BHS)
Average monthly income is not more than $4,000
Annual value of residence is not more than $21,000
Own not more than one property
If you are a self-employed person, you must have an active GIRO arrangement with CPF Board to settle your MediSave payable via monthly instalments or have fully settled your MediSave payable*

*If you derived self-employed income from platform work prior to 2025, the above also applies to you.

CPF Board will notify you at the beginning of each year if you qualify. No application is needed. You can check your eligibility and matching grant information via your Healthcare Dashboard.

How to make cash top-ups to receive the matching grant?

Who can top up?

Anyone such as yourself, your loved ones, employers, platform operators or community partners, can make cash top-ups to your MA for you to benefit from the Matched MediSave Scheme.

How much to top up?

The top-up can be any amount up to your applicable BHS. The top-ups can be in a lump sum or may be multiple top-ups throughout the year. However, the matching grant is up to $1,000 a year.

How to top up?

Make cash top-ups to MA anytime in the year. Cash top-ups which attract the matching grant will not be eligible for tax relief. Find out more about topping up to MA.

Matching grant

When will the MMSS-eligible recipient receive the matching grant?

The matching grant* from the cash top-ups will be credited to the MA of the MMSS-eligible recipient at the beginning of the following year.

*To receive the matching grant, the MMSS-eligible recipient must be a Singapore Citizen at the time of crediting, and if self-employed, he/she must have an active GIRO arrangement with CPF Board to settle his/her MediSave payable via monthly instalments or have fully settled his/her MediSave payable.
